The jet lag must be much worse than I thought – we ALL slept until 11:00! I would normally have been grateful for the extra sleep but with everything in London closing at 6:00pm that means that we wasted most of the day. We went for a stroll down Oxford Street and ate lunch at McDonald’s. It was interesting to see the differences between a London McD’s and a USA McD’s. They even had hotdogs, Latte and Cappuccino!
It was absolutely gorgeous outside so we walked around Hyde Park – we even saw Speakers Corner where people gather on the weekends and speak about anything they please. The boys were so adorable running through the park screaming “go faster”. We went and watched the geese and swans at Serpentine Lake and then we headed to the Rose Garden where I stopped to feed Andrew. It was absolutely the most perfect weather sitting there in the garden! There was a cool and constant breeze, the temperature was about 68 and the sun was shining down on us. With my three miracles by my side, I caught a small glimpse of heaven! Unfortunately the weather in London changes quickly and it soon looked like rain.
We headed over to Hard Rock Café and had an early dinner. It was our hopes that by eating earlier in the evening we could get on more of a “London” schedule. As I mentioned before almost everything closes (except restaurants and pubs) so we found a grocery store that was still open (Sainbury’s) and stocked up on baby food and snacks and headed back to the hotel. On the way back we saw an internet café so I stopped in while Poppy and Daddy put the boys to bed. You guys know me, after 3 days of no internet access, I was really having withdrawals! For the low, low price of £1 I could get online for half an hour. After I got back to the hotel, it was my night to watch the boys while Poppy and Daddy went to a local pub for guy’s night out.
