The school’s play “When in Rome …” opened tonight. Typically the play is only available to 5th thru 8th graders and the 4th grade is allowed to be in the chorus. This year, they expanded the opportunities by letting the 3rd graders performed in the opening act which Andrew got to be in the opening act and Carter got to be in the play. The opening act was a dance routine that started with the students portraying roman statutes that come to life. It was absolutely adorable! The main play was about poor Roman orphans (Carter was part of the orphan group) where one of the orphans falls in love with the princess. He must win a gladiator battle in order to be her prince. It was a musical comedy that hit a home run! The absolutely best part of the play, in my humble opinion, was when the orphans devised this scheme to be parlor maids in order to get close to the princess and the orphans came out dressed as women! Emily screamed from the audience “I love the one in the purple dress” which of course was Carter! It was an amazing performance by all!
