The children have been little troopers this week so we decided to devote almost the entire day to them. We went to the Creative Discovery Museum which is a museum dedicated to children. The children played in the tree house which is a room for 4 and under. The room has a child-sized kitchen, tree house, and toddler corner (which Andrew loved). Next, we went to the music room where the boys got to try out all sorts of instruments. We then went and learned about dinosaurs — they even got to dig for fossils! We then went and saw a special exhibit called Whirligigs. Various artists have created these interactive works of art that utilize cranks, fans, or hairdryers. For instance, at one of the displays, you would turn a crank and you could watch a peacock’s feathers open and close. At another one, you could sit in an airplane and through pedal power could make airplanes fly overhead. Carter and Nathan had a BLAST!
Since we were already downtown Kelley and I decided to head to Warehouse Row to do some shopping. For those of you new to the Chattanooga area, Warehouse Row has discounted yuppie stuff like Tommy Hilfiger, Bass, Coach, Polo, Liz Claiborne, etc. We topped the evening off with Poppy and Nana at Olive Garden. As an extra special after-dinner treat, Poppy and Nana bought Carter and Nathan a late birthday present – big boy bikes!!!!! Now mommy needs to find a screwdriver and get busy making TWO bicycles! 🙂
