We had a great day with Aunt Kelley, Uncle Mahmoud and Mason! We all went to Coolidge Park and ate at a delicious deli. We then took Carter and Nathan on a carousel ride. In the park, there were stone animal statues for the kids to climb on and there were metal objects that they could hit to make music. They had a blast! After an hour or more of relaxing at Mason’s house, we met up with Poppy and Nana and had a wonderful dinner at Red Lobster – yum yum!
Well, if you’ve read the website from the beginning then you’ll probably remember the horrible story of how Carter and Nathan crawled out into the street when they were about 14 months old, causing me to age a few hundred years! Well, Andrew gave me a heart attack almost equal to that of the twins. Last night we were at Poppy’s new house to see it for the first time. Poppy was having trouble with the key so I put the boys back in their car seats to keep them warm. I did not buckle them in because they weren’t going to be there long. I got Carter and Nathan out without any problems but when I went to get Andrew he had crawled over to Carter’s seat and was leaning against the door. When I opened the door he did two complete somersaults before landing on his HEAD! I saw the whole thing in slow motion yet there wasn’t a thing I could do to stop it! Andrew barely cried while I scooped him up and ran into the garage where I could assess his injuries. He had a bump over his right eye and the eyebrow area was red and swelling. We put ice on it and observed him for a few minutes. He acted as if nothing had ever happened and even let me push around the eyebrow area to make sure I couldn’t feel a fracture. I decided to just observe him for the evening and go to the ER should he develop any symptoms. Luckily by this morning, all swelling was gone and you could only see two red scrapes. Needless to say, I had several heart attacks and gained a few hundred new gray hairs! Our angel was watching over us last night!
