CARTER & NATHAN TURN 3!

It’s hard to believe that 3 years ago today Carter and Nathan came into this world weighing 4lbs 15oz and 4lbs 8oz! They were two months early and gave us all quite a scare with their enthusiasm to meet the world.

I wish everyone could have celebrated their birthday with us but alas some just couldn’t make it. So through the technology of the internet, I’ll bring the party to you! Enjoy!

The theme this year was racing cars / hot wheels so I baked each of the boys a car cake. In previous years I would make one ‘big’ cake and then make a 6″ each cake for each boy and have everyone sing one birthday song. This year I decided to do two ‘big’ cakes and have each boy have their own birthday song sung to them. It worked out beautifully!

This year we decided to have the party at GymTime for Kids. There were three instructors and they had tons of gym type equipment for little children. They did all of the decorating and setting up – all we had to do was bring the cake, snacks, drinks and paper goods! The party was booked for an hour and a half and it was packed with fun!

When we first got there the children were allowed to have ‘free’ play!

After the kids had ‘free’ play they all gathered around in a circle. The instructors had music on and the children would do stretching ‘exercises’ like waving their hands in the air, doing bicycle kicks with their legs, etc.

After circle time the kids got to ride a mini roller coaster. It was a HUGE hit!

After the roller coaster ride, we had a snowball fight! The instructors had everyone lay down in the circle and pretend to be asleep. They told us that while we were sleeping there had been a huge snowstorm. They told us that when the music started playing again we would wake up and have a snowball fight. While they were telling the story, one of the instructors dumped foam balls all over the sleeping kids. When we woke up – we had a snowball fight! It’s worth noting that the third ‘fight’ was deemed “throw snowballs at Carter & Nathan’s mommy!”

Now for the good part – CAKE TIME!

After we got cleaned up from eating cake (trust me there was more cake on the kids’ faces than in their bellies) we had more ‘free’ play.

The last game of the day was ‘pop the bubbles’. The boys were brought up first and each was given a bubble to pop and were told how they were to pop them, i.e. with their head, karate kick, karate punch, etc.

As my ‘true fans’ may remember, Carter and Nathan share a birthday with two other sets of twin girls. So, after our party, we went to Jacquie’s house to celebrate with Giana and Kayla! They had tons of food, lots of games, and a moonwalk with a slide!

After we played ourselves to near exhaustion we pigged out on more cake.

Now that you’ve reached the end, do you think they had a big enough day? We left Jacquie’s house sometime around 7 pm and the boys were passed out in the backseat before we got to the end of her subdivision. This was the first birthday that they really got excited about and I hope it’s one that they will remember forever!
