Emily sees Dr. Woo

Emily had a good visit with Dr. Woo, her orthopaedic surgeon.  I mentioned the bowing of her leg and he did some x-rays which confirmed her leg is bowing.  He said that this is common with the type of breaks she had.  He explained that one of her bones is growing at a normal rate while the other is growing more slowly.  He said that it will self correct in one to two years and if it doesn’t, there is a surgery they can perform that will stop the one bone from growing while the other catches up.  I hope she is lucky and this resolves itself without more surgery.  Hard to believe a simple accident has caused such lasting damage.
