Today was the open house/meet & greet at Carter & Nathan’s new school and the first word that comes to my mind in describing it is … overwhelming! We are used to having 34 students in our grade and now there are 150 students! John and I both went so we could divide and conquer and help each boy navigate their way through the hall maze to find each of their 7 classes. Out of 7 classes, the boys only have two classes together (gym and music appreciation). All of their classes are advanced and as soon as they begin testing for the gifted program, we hope to move them to gifted classes. I honestly don’t see how the kids are supposed to get from one class to another in 5 minutes but somehow they will make it work. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they have lockers because I had heard that middle school public schools don’t offer lockers so we got very lucky. I can’t believe they start middle school on Monday! Before I know it, they will be starting high school!
