Susan was gracious enough to let us invite ourselves to her house. Carter and I had a follow-up appointment with the ENT so after a short playdate, she watched Nathan and Andrew while we went to the doctor. I’d like to say that we had a great check-up but it looks like the medical black cloud of 2002 is still with us. Carter has bad fluid build-up in his ears despite a month of antibiotic treatment. I’ve noticed a big loss in hearing and he is starting to have difficulty pronouncing words. The doctor and I discussed it at great length and decided that tubes were the best way to go. I hate the idea of Carter having surgery but I know in the long run will do him a lot of good. I haven’t spoken to the scheduling nurse yet so I’ll let you know when we have a date.
