Carter & Naomi: 1 years old
Andrew: 1 years old
Marshall: 5 years old

What a party!  I can’t believe how many people showed up (25 adults and 10 children).  I also can’t get over the generosity of our friends and family.  Thanks to them our garage now looks like the warehouse for Toys-R-Us!

It was funny watching the boys dig into their cakes.   Nathan had dug into it before we finished handing it to him!  Carter, on the other hand, picked at it with two fingers until mommy quite meanly put cake on his face – then he went to town!  They really seemed to enjoy digging into all of their presents too!

Unfortunately, I didn’t get a picture of everything I wanted to – too hectic but everything was decorated in Noah’s Ark.  We had a Noah’s Ark center piece, table cloths, plates, gift wrap and balloons.  I made a Noah’s Ark cake for the adults and two separate cakes for the boys, in addition to making Noah’s Ark candy lollipops and Noah’s Ark side-walk chalk for party favors.  I also made these things called splongee balls for the children.  Needless to say I didn’t get much sleep the week prior to the party and well, now I’m paying for it – I have almost NO voice!  But hey, I waited 10 years to throw my children a first birthday party and even though I went way overboard – it was well worth it!  They may never remember it but I’ll always know I did it for them.

While the boys’ took a nap we cleaned up the aftermath.  Once they woke up we started celebrating again – we all went to Planet Hollywood for a late dinner and another celebration.  The boys had a blast.   After downing an entire bowl of penne pasta they feasted on ice cream with whipped cream topping!  You’d think with all that sugar they would have been up for days – nope they slept like a rock for 12 hrs!  I do believe the boys take after their mama!   Devour sugar and then sleep for half a day!

All in all I think the day was a HUGE success and all I can say is – thank goodness I have a year to recoup before I do it again!  🙂
